The Coptic Museum

General Information

The Coptic Museum in Old Cairo preserves Egypt's Christian heritage with a wide collection of icons, textiles, manuscripts and church artifacts from the Byzantine and Coptic periods. Founded in 1910 near the Hanging Church, it holds one of the world’s most important collections of Coptic art, showing the transition from ancient Egyptian belief systems to early Christian faith in Egypt.
