The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM)

General Information

The Grand Egyptian Museum is a modern cultural landmark near the Giza pyramids built to display Egypt's greatest archaeological finds. Designed as the largest archaeological museum in the world, it houses more than 100,000 artifacts, including the full Tutankhamun collection, monumental statues, and daily life objects from the Old, Middle, and New Kingdoms. Its galleries trace Egypt from the predynastic era through the Greco-Roman period in a glass-clad building that opens directly onto the plateau.
