General Information
The Sharm El Sheikh Museum is the first Egyptian antiquities museum in South Sinai. Opened in 2020 on Airport Road, it covers an area of 190,000 square meters and displays approximately 5,200 artifacts showcasing ancient Egyptian civilization and the heritage of Sinai.
Opening Date: Inaugurated by the President of the Republic in 2020, following the completion of construction that began in 2003 and was interrupted several times.
Exhibition Theme: The museum aims to present the history of Egyptian civilization, the relationship between humans and the environment, and the development of sciences and crafts. It includes taxidermied animals (cats, scarabs, and a crocodile) from the Saqqara area.
